Strathclyde MBA ranked in Corporate Knights Better World MBA rankings

Strathclyde Business School has been ranked in the Corporate Knights Better World MBA Rankings, recognising the integration of sustainability in the programme as well as research on sustainability topics carried out by faculty across the business school.

Strathclyde ranked 17th in the global rankings and, of 10 UK business schools ranked, Strathclyde was placed in the top five.

Programmes are evaluated across key performance indicators including core course integration of sustainability, research publications per faculty member on sustainability topics and overall faculty publications on sustainability, as well as faculty gender and racial diversity. Corporate Knights evaluated 147 MBAs, including the Financial Times 100 Global MBA programmes, the programmes that made the top 40 of last year's Better World MBA Ranking and select MBA programmes accredited by AMBA ,AACSB or EQUIS and signatories of PRME (Principles for Responsible Management education).

Strathclyde Business School is accredited by all three of the accrediting bodies and is also a signatory of PRME.

Executive Dean, Professor David Hillier, said, "With the eyes of the world on Glasgow as COP26 meets to discuss climate change, it's fitting that we hear of this latest ranking award for Strathclyde which recognises the emphasis we have on sustainability within our institution. We are a socially responsible business school and we continue to support and commit to the PRME principles, strengthening the School's vision to be a socially progressive, world-class business school in a leading international technological university. This ranking acknowledges how we have integrated sustainability into our MBA programme in particular and also recognises the research that is carried out by colleagues across sustainability topics in alignment with UN Sustainable Development Goals, and I'm delighted our efforts are recognised in this way."

Toby Heaps, CEO of Corporate Knights, said, "Every MBA programme in the world should be instilling holistic purpose in leaders, ensuring they have the skills, tools and values to build a more inclusive, healthier economy that's beneficial to society and in harmony with the natural world, and the Better World business schools are leading the way."

In 2020 Corporate Knights uncovered a noticeable rise in faculty research and core course aligned with UN SDGs and this trend accelerated in 2021. These developments reflect greater demand from students to train for meaningful work to help solve the serious social and environmental problems that threaten our common future.

From the 147 MBAs evaluated this year by Corporate Knights, just 40 are ranked in the 2021 Better World MBA Rankings. You can find details of the evaluation methods and ranking here
