First PhD awarded in ICADE Comillas and SBS agreement

Dr Maria Jose Manjon Rodriguez has been awarded the highest possible mark for what is the first dissertation under an agreement between Strathclyde Business School and Universidad Pontificia Comillas.
Professors from the UK, France and Spain made up a five member panel to award the highest possible mark to María's dissertation which is entitled "Bridging disconnections through social entrepreneurship to tackle energy poverty". At Strathclyde, María was supervised by Dr Iain Cairns of the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship and, at ICADE Comillas, Dr Amparo Merino de Diego.
Since 2019, SBS and ICADE Comillas have delivered a joint PGR supervision programme. Students on this programme are supervised by a team which includes a second supervisor from an external partner. This agreement also allows the student to spend a significant period away from their home university to attend and progress their studies at the university where their second supervisor is based. Students on this programme receive a full studentship to cover tuition fees, stipend and travel costs.
