Stephen Young Institute Director wins Abbie Griffin High Impact Award

Professor Emma Macdonald, Charles Huang Chair in International Business and Stephen Young Institute Director, has been announced as the winner of this year’s Abbie Griffin High Impact Award for her article “Harnessing Difference: A Capability-Based Framework for Stakeholder Engagement in Environmental Innovation“.  Co-written with Rosina Watson, Hugh N. Wilson and Palie Smart, the article was published in 2017 in the Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM).

The Journal of Product Innovation Management (JPIM) is an interdisciplinary, international journal that seeks to advance theoretical and managerial knowledge of innovation management and product development. This award recognises the JPIM article published in the past five years that has made the most significant contributions to the theory and practice of innovation management.

The award was presented during the 2023 PDMA (Product Development and Management Association) conference in New Orleans which took place from September 16-17.

Professor Macdonald said, "I was delighted to receive the award at conference on behalf of my co-authors and I'm grateful to the JPIM co-editors Charles Noble and Jelena Spanjol, and the JPIM judging panel for selecting our work for this prestigious award in the name of former JPIM editor Abbie Griffin."
