SBS Marketing students selected for Star Marketing Student award

Strathclyde Business School's Department of Marketing has nominated two students for this year's Star Marketing Student Award run by the Marketing Society Scotland.

The awards bring together the best and brightest student marketing talent in Scotland, and Rachel Johnston and Jevan Shields were selected by the Department due to their academic ability and their performance in interviews with departmental academic staff.

Rachel and Jevan will attend the Edrington UK offices in Glasgow on March 14 for this year's Apprentice Day. There, they will be joined by student finalists from other universities across Scotland to take part in team tasks, working on a live brief set by Edrington UK to assess their strategic, creative and presentation skills.

The overall winner of the award, announced at the Star Awards ceremony in June, will receive a placement with the team at Edrington UK, with all finalists receiving a year's membership to The Marketing Society sponsored by Edrington.

Rachel said, "I am really excited that the University has selected me for this opportunity. I am so grateful that the hard work I have put into studying Marketing throughout my second year has been recognised and reflects the passion I have for the subject and a future career within it. I am looking forward to the Apprentice Day at the Edrington offices next month where I can put the theoretical frameworks I have learnt into a real-life situation and collaborate with other like-minded students like myself."
