Doctoral Fellowship for Strathclyde student

Strathclyde doctoral student, Sola Olododo, has been awarded a prestigious Doctoral Student Fellowship to attend the 2024 PDMA Doctoral Consortium in Syracuse, New York from July 31-August 2.

The PDMA (Product Development & Management Association) is a global professional body for innovation professionals and is responsible for the Journal of Product Innovation Management (CABS4). The aim of the Consortium is to enhance the development of doctoral students conducting impactful research in the broad domain of innovation which includes areas such as new products and services, digital marketing, new approaches to customer engagement and so forth. Students accepted to the consortium will be honored as Doctoral Student Fellows and have a unique opportunity to network and share ideas with noted scholars from around the world in a collaborative setting.

Sola is a Stephen Young Institute Doctoral Scholarship holder. In September 2021, the University received a donation from alumnus and global business leader Dr Charles Huang from his philanthropic foundation. This transformational gift funds the Stephen Young Institute for International Business ('the Stephen Young Institute'), launched in honour of Dr Huang’s PhD mentor, Professor Stephen Young, a former Head of the Department of Marketing at Strathclyde Business School.

Sola said, "‘It is with honour and a deep sense of humility, I accept the PDMA Doctoral Student Fellowship Award.  This award provides the privilege to engage and share ideas about my research work with leading international scholars. It also provides an opportunity for networking. I attribute this achievement to the support of the SBS community, which has been instrumental in nurturing both my personal and academic development. My appreciation knows no bounds."
