Student's economics essay placed in top three of competition

Strathclyde Business School Economics student Alex Christou was runner up in an essay competition which marked the 10th Anniversary of the Competition and Markets Authority (CMA).
The second year student wrote an essay on: ‘What are the benefits of a strong competition and/or consumer protection regime, and how can the CMA best deliver them?’ and was runner up in the competition which saw 85 students take part.
The essays were judged by an eminent panel comprised of Sarah Cardell (Chief Executive of the CMA), Amelia Fletcher CBE (Professor of Competition Policy at Norwich Business School), Richard Whish (Emeritus Professor of Law at King’s College) and Dr Mike Walker (Chief Economist at the CMA).
Alex was invited to join CMA staff and stakeholders at an event on April 18 to mark 10 years of the CMA.
