Strathclyde Business School reaccredited by AACSB

Strathclyde Business School (SBS) is delighted to announce that we have been reaccredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) for a five year period, having undergone a rigorous review process which involves a peer review team from the business education community assessing the business school against stringent criteria.

AACSB accreditation is known, worldwide, as the longest-standing, most recognised form of specialised accreditation that an institution and its business programmes can earn. Accreditation is a voluntary, nongovernmental process that includes a rigorous external review of a school's mission, faculty qualifications, curricula, and ability to provide the highest-quality programmes.

Following an in-person peer group review in March, SBS's application for reaccreditation has been approved by the AACSB Continuous Improvement Review Committee and ratified by its Board of Directors.

Earning accreditation signifies a business school's commitment to strategic management, learner success, thought leadership, and societal impact. AACSB Accreditation ensures a school is providing its students with a challenging, relevant education that prepares them for the business world.

Achieving AACSB accreditation is a rigorous process. Each accreditation standard assesses a school's ability to perform in critical areas, such as teaching, research, curricula development, and student learning.

Executive Dean of Strathclyde Business School, Professor David Hillier, said, "We are extremely proud to have received another full period of accreditation from AACSB. This is testament to the fact we are amongst the world's best business schools: only 6% of the world's schools offering business degrees have achieved AACSB international accreditation.

"As an innovative business school within a leading technological University, this accreditation points to the work we do in all aspects of our business school including teaching, research, support for students and our overall strategy. Accreditation stands as an independent benchmark of the quality of the school, its ethos and the work that goes on here.

"I have to give full credit to our staff, students, alumni and corporate colleagues who all played a part in the stringent reaccreditation process: at Strathclyde, our people really are our strength.

"Summer graduations took place last week and this news of the reaccreditation comes at a perfect time for our newly graduated students to go out into the world, knowing their degree is one of the best in the world."

AACSB is one of three international accreditation bodies which includes AMBA and EQUIS - Strathclyde Business School is accredited by all three, known as the 'triple crown'.
