Lifetime Achievement Award and Fellowship for marketing professor

Professor Anne Marie Doherty, Department of Marketing, has been honoured with a Lifetime Achievement Award and Fellowship by the Academy of Marketing at their 2024 annual conference at Cardiff University.
In recognition of extraordinary and distinguished services to the Academy, the Academy of Marketing proclaimed Professor Doherty Fellow of the Academy of Marketing and Life Member of the Academy of Marketing.
Professor Doherty is Vice-President of the Academy of Marketing. She is outgoing Chair of the Academy having taken up the role in 2017, the year the Academy celebrated its 50th anniversary. Previous to this she was Deputy Chair of the Academy and Chair of the Academy of Marketing Research Sub-Committee. She was conference chair in 2013, and again in 2021, co-chairing the AM2021 Virtual Conference 'Reframing Marketing Priorities'.
Paying tribute to Professor Doherty, the current Chair of the Academy, Professor Lisa O’Malley said, “Under her stewardship, the Academy has experienced a renaissance. Through Anne Marie’s leadership we have forged closer relationships with our colleagues in The Marketing Trust, The CIM and the Worshipful Company of Marketors. Anne Marie is an inspirational and transformational leader and the Academy is truly indebted to her.”
Anne Marie Doherty is Professor of Marketing at Strathclyde Business School and immediate past Head of Department. She served as a full panel member for REF2021 on the C17 Business and Management sub-panel. She is a member of the Royal Anniversary Trust's Readers’ Panel which assesses the Queen's Anniversary Awards for Further and Higher Education. Previously, she served two terms of office on the Chartered Institute of Marketing's Academic Senate.
