Peking University visit to Strathclyde Business School

Strathclyde Business School (SBS) was delighted to host a delegation from the School of Economics at Peking University from August 23–25. The delegation was led by Cui Jianhua, Secretary of the Party Committee of Peking University School of Economics who was accompanied by Professor Qin Xuezheng, Vice Dean of Peking University School of Economics, Professor Xu Yunxiao, Professor of Peking University School of Economics and Dean of Peking University Institute of Urban Soft Power, Li Ke, Deputy Director of Peking University International Cooperation Department, and Professor Hao Yu, Tenured Associate Professor, Wang Yaojing, Assistant Professor, and Li Lun, Assistant Professor of Peking University School of Economics.
Peking University (PKU) was founded in 1898 and is the second oldest university in China. PKU is one of the most prestigious institutions in China, is a member of the C9 league and the Double First-Class Construction scheme, and is ranked as one of the top universities in the world.
Professor Scott MacGregor, Vice Principal, welcomed the delegation to campus and expressed his enthusiasm and commitment to strengthening the cooperation between the two institutions, recognising the strategic synergies and potential for collaboration.
Professor David Hillier, Associate Principal and Executive Dean of SBS, led on a series of productive and informative sessions to further develop existing strands of cooperation between SBS and the Faculty of Economics, PKU. SBS colleagues provided introductions to their areas of expertise to stimulate discussions and generate opportunities for further engagement. A particular focus was on the development of a collaborative DBA for executives.
Professor Hillier said, “It was a great pleasure to welcome our friends from Peking University and we enjoyed some very fruitful discussions on future cooperation between Peking University's Faulty of Economics and Strathclyde Business School.
“These discussions focused on joint delivery of programmes, study tours and faculty exchange. We were honoured to meet with such distinguished academics with such enthusiasm for our partnership and look forward to continuing our discussions in the future.”
