Strathclyde alumna is crowned HR Graduate of the Year

Strathclyde Business School graduate Khushboo Parikh has been named HR Graduate of the Year at the prestigious Hr Network Magazine Awards' Gala Dinner 2024.

Khushboo, who studied the MSc International Human Resource Management programme at the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation, was presented with the award at a glittering ceremony on November 14 at The Hilton in Glasgow.

Over 700 guests attended the Hr Network National Awards 2024 which recognise, acknowledge and reward the stars of the Scottish HR profession and which showcased winners across 18 different categories.

Khushboo was one of three Strathclyde graduates from the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation to be shortlisted for the award of HR Graduate of the Year this year - Noor Azeyati Azren Anuar and Antonios Konsolakis also made it onto the shortlist. Khushboo started her studies in 2022, graduating in November 2023 and has gone on to have a successful career in human resources in Scotland, where she has excelled by applying the knowledge and skills gained from her MSc International Human Resource Management

Her win makes this the fourth year in a row that a Strathclyde graduate has been crowned HR Graduate of the Year at these national awards.

Khushboo said, "I am absolutely thrilled and deeply honoured to have been named HR Graduate of the Year 2024 at the Hr NETWORK Magazine Awards! Being recognised alongside such talented and inspiring professionals is truly humbling, and this achievement means the world to me.

"This success isn’t just down to me though - it belongs to everyone who has supported me throughout this journey. Accolades and recognition are so much more meaningful when shared with the people who made them possible, and my thanks go to Strathclyde Business School and the whole team at the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation for their incredible support and guidance along the way."

Professor Ian Cunningham, head of the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation, said, "We are delighted to see Khushboo being named HR Graduate of the Year at this annual celebration of the HR industry in Scotland. We are also delighted that, as a department and business school, we have celebrated Strathclyde graduates winning this award for four consecutive years now. We take so much pride in seeing our amazing graduates doing so well and this is thanks both to the calibre of the students who choose to study at Strathclyde and also to the quality of our programmes and the dedication of our excellent staff in the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation."

The 17th annual gathering, which is the flagship event for HR professionals across Scotland, was hosted by radio broadcaster and Scott Wilson. Other winners included: MINTRA (Leading with Kindness Award) Gleneagles (HR Team of the Year) and Robertson Group’s executive people director, Tony Elliot who won the Outstanding Contribution to Scottish HR award. In a video recorded earlier this year, Khushboo reflects on how her studies equipped her for success in her role: Watch now.
