Two SBS students shortlisted for Star Marketing Student award

Two Strathclyde Business School marketing students have been shortlisted for the Marketing Society Scotland's Star Marketing Student award following the annual Star Marketing Student Apprentice Day in partnership with Edrington UK at the Robertson Trust offices in Glasgow on March 13.

Students from 11 universities and colleges across Scotland took part to compete and also work collaboratively on a live brief set by the team at Edrington UK. Star Marketing Students are nominated by universities and colleges from across Scotland and assessed at an Apprentice Day involving several team tasks as well as individual interviews.

From Strathclyde, Anya Coulter, marketing and entrepreneurship, and Charlotte Jebson, marketing and psychology, are two of the four finalists who will be competing for the title of Star Marketing Student and to receive a placement at Edrington UK.

Fourth year student Anya said, "Taking part in the apprentice day was a thoroughly enjoyable experience where we got the opportunity to work with Edrington on a live brief and meet other students from across Scotland. It was an honour to attend as a representative of the university."

All those who have taken part so far receive a year long membership with The Marketing Society, sponsored by Edrington.

The judges at the Apprentice Day were: Kirsteen Beeston, Benjamin Black, Keenan Erwin and Helen Davidson. The overall winner will be announced at the Star Awards ceremony on June 12.
