Barclays Finance Experience partnership continues with Career Spotlight

The Department of Accounting and Finance launched a pilot programme in conjunction with Barclays – The Barclays Finance Experience - in late 2023, running over six weeks at the Barclays campus in Glasgow.

The programme gives students practical insights on the day-to-day operations of banking and provided the opportunity to work on cases and employability skills in preparation for future internships and graduate roles.

Now, the Barclays Finance Experience is entering its fourth cycle and continues to demonstrate remarkable impact on participating students.

Barclays recently held a Career Spotlight session with Strathclyde students Dylan Curran and Alexandra Blake selected to represent Strathclyde Business School at the event.

Led by Andrew Hall (Director of Financial Control, Barclays) and Claire Peel (Chief Financial Officer, Barclays), the session involved students sharing their perspectives on the integrated programme with senior leadership/Executive Board Members.

To date, 120 Strathclyde students have benefited from the Barclays Finance Experience, with consistently positive outcomes.

The Department of Accounting and Finance remains committed to developing these industry partnerships, providing students with practical experience that enriches their academic journey and strengthens their career prospects.
