Glasgow 850 Marketing competition winners announced
Strathclyde Business School's Department of Marketing launched a Marketing Competition earlier this year for S5/6 pupils studying business in Glasgow secondary schools as part of the City of Glasgow's celebrations to mark 850 years since it was established as a burgh in 1175, and the winners have now been finalised.
Pupils were tasked with selecting, researching and promoting a place or location within Glasgow and, as a team of no more than six members, they were asked to design an academic poster with ideas of how they would promote that place or location.
With a high number of entries received, it was a difficult task to choose the winners but after great consideration, the winners are:
1st Prize: Mia McMillan and Grace McCargo, St Ninian’s High School, East Renfrewshire, for their poster on Buchanan Street
2nd Prize: Hannah Daly Brady and Patrick Fraser, St Ninian’s High School, East Renfrewshire, for their poster on 850 Years of Glasgow in the Botanic Gardens
3rd Prize: Carson Tsang, Yusuf Aslam and Unays Pa, Mearns Castle High School, for their poster on Glasgow’s Journey at The Riverside
The judging panel consisted of all members of the Marketing Department who commented on the high quality of the entries. All entries were deemed impressive and were highly commended for their thought and creativity. Thank you to all our participants.
