SBS academic is one of “50 Faces of KTP”

Professor Jillian MacBryde has been featured in "50 Faces of KTP", a special recognition campaign by Innovate UK Knowledge Transfer Partnerships (KTP).

The campaign celebrates 50 years of successful university-business collaborations, highlighting individuals like academics, associates, and businesses who've driven innovation, growth, and societal impact through the programme and the campaign showcases some of the transformative projects.

With this initiative highlighting 50 key people who have participated in Innovate UK's Knowledge Transfer Partnerships, Professor MacBryde - Professor of Innovation in the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, Strategy and Innovation - is in the illustrious company of a group of individuals who have helped shape the KTP programme.

A KTP is a three-way partnership between a business seeking to bring new ideas to life, a university, and a recently qualified graduate or postgraduate – known as the KTP Associate – who drives these innovative projects forward. The programme brings businesses and academics together to solve real world challenges.

Each project can last up to three years, transferring and embedding new knowledge and skills to encourage business growth and innovation.

Professor MacBryde said, “I started my involvement with KTP back in 1997 when, as an early career lecturer, I applied for my first TCS project with Adcraft in Kilmarnock. Since 1997 I have been involved with over 20 TCS and KTP projects, right up to my current project with Ailsa Reliability Solutions.

“Often KTP is talked about as a three-way partnership between a university, organisation and KTP associate but in my experience, the collaborations that come from KTP go far wider than this, creating a lasting supportive ecosystem. I have worked with some fabulous people over the years through KTP and many I am still in contact with.”

Alongside Professor MacBryde, Professor John Liggat, Department of Chemistry at Strathclyde, was also included.
