SBS performs well in NSS ratings
Strathclyde Business School has performed well in the National Student Survey (NSS) with overall satisfaction sitting at over 90%.
The NSS gathers the views of final-year undergraduate students across the UK and is one of the sector’s key measures of the student academic experience. Universities and colleges use the results to inform improvements to courses, services and support.
Three business school subjects - Finance, Marketing and Business & Management - were ranked 1st in Scotland while three subjects - Economics, Accounting and Business Studies - ranked 2nd in Scotland.
Five subjects have risen up the UK rankings from last year: Marketing moved up three places, Economics up four places; Finance up four places, Business & Management up five places and Business Studies moved up seven places.
In addition to subject performance, there were improvements across five themes which included: Organisation and Management (up 13.0%); Assessment and Feedback (up 5.8%); Student Voice (up 2.3%); Learning opportunities (up 2.2%); Academic support (up 2.2%).
The business school results are part of an overall positive picture for the University of Strathclyde across all faculties. The University as a whole has been ranked second in Scotland for Overall Satisfaction in the NSS.
Strathclyde achieved an Overall Satisfaction score of 88.6%, an increase of 1.6 percentage points on last year and 7.3 percentage points above the average for universities and small specialist institutions in Scotland.
The result reflects Strathclyde’s progress in the NSS, following third place in Scotland in 2024 and fifth place in 2023.
