HRM graduates' success at the Hr NETWORK annual awards

A total of seven Strathclyde Business School graduates from the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation were shortlisted in two award categories at the Hr Network National Awards 2021.

The 14th Hr NETWORK National Awards 2021 in partnership with Roffey Park Institute, took place at the Glasgow Hilton on November 25. Attracting around 600 HR and people professionals this year, the Awards recognise, acknowledge and reward the champions of the Scottish HR profession.

Fraser Gillespie graduated in September 2020 with an MSc in Human Resource Management with Distinction. He was awarded HR Graduate of the Year.  Impressively, all four finalists in this category were Department of Work, Employment and Organisation graduates.

Clare Marshall graduated in September 2019 with an MSc in Human Resource Management with Distinction. She works with Falkirk Council and was awarded HR Assistant of the Year. Three of the four finalists were Department of Work, Employment and Organisation graduates.

She said, "It was an honour to be recognised within the HR Community in receiving the award of HR Assistant/Officer of the Year. A massive thank you to Karen Morrison and the Strathclyde Business School Department of Work, Employment and Organisation for all of their support throughout the completion of my MSc course and huge congratulations to all of the other winners and those shortlisted. It was great to be part of such a fantastic event and to meet such talented HR professionals."

The flagship event for HR professionals across the whole of Scotland, which also included a gala dinner, was once again hosted by radio & TV presenter and broadcaster Stephen Jardine.

Ian Cunningham, Head of the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation, said, "We are always delighted to hear of our graduates' success. As a Department, we are all so proud of Clare and Fraser on their success at these prestigious awards. Knowing that we had so many graduates from the Department of Work, Employment and Organisation shortlisted is also a source of great pride to us."
