Vulnerable Consumers seminar series gets funding

Dr Kathy Hamilton has secured ESRC funding for a seminar series on Vulnerable Consumers, along with Dr Susan Dunnett (University of Edinburgh) and Dr Maria Piacentini (Lancaster University).

The central aims of the series are firstly to provide a space to critically engage with the notion of consumer vulnerability in order to promote dialogue and interchange between researchers, practitioners and policy makers; and second, to create a supportive forum through which to foster methodological good practice and encourage collaborative research projects.

This more practical agenda will facilitate the exploration of the ethics of such research and the identification of research barriers within Management/Business Schools and the social sciences more broadly. The impact of this series will be in its relevance to social policy on health and access to care, ageing, children as consumers, poverty and social exclusion. The series will comprise six seminars with the first being held in November 2012. For further information, contact Kathy.hamilton@strath.ac.uk
