SBS has had several recent successes in the Scottish Graduate School of Social Sciences Doctoral Training Centre studentship competitions. Professors Peter McGregor and Kim Swales in the Department of Economics were awarded two co-funded Scottish Government/ESRC studentships for the following projects:
In the individual pathway competitions, Joseph McCarthy who will be studying risk communication with primary supervisor Calvin Burns (HRM) was ranked first in the Business and Management pathway, and Struan Noble, who is researching the patent system and knowledge diffusion in clean energy technologies with primary supervisor Lise Tole(Economics), was ranked first in the Environment, Energy/Climate Change pathway.
