Professor Paliwoda with PhD students
Professor Stan Paliwoda of the Department of Marketing has been presenting with four of his PhD students at conferences this summer and - soon to be taking early retirement – Professor Paliwoda says this amounts to ‘going out with a flourish’.
The Global Marketing Conference (GMC) took place in Seoul from July 18-22 and Professor Paliwoda attended with three of his PhD students: Elsa Wilkin-Armbrister, Ziad Abdelmoety and Malcolm Stewart. While there, they met up with Dr Jooyoung Jeon from the Department of Management Science, himself Korean, who was also attending the conference and presenting a paper.
Earlier in July, at the Academy of Marketing Conference at Southampton University, Professor Paliwoda and Malcolm Stewart presented a paper and later on, in mid-September, Professor Paliwoda and Alessandro Signorini will be presenting a paper at the 28th IMP (Industrial Marketing and Purchasing) Conference to be held in Rome. Professor Paliwoda hosted this particular conference very successfully last September at Strathclyde.
Professor Paliwoda also attended the Academy of Marketing conference where, as International Marketing SIG Chair and AM Conference Track Chair for International Marketing, he presented the Beset Paper Award in the International Marketing Track. The conference took place at Southampton University, July 2-5. The paper was "International Market Selection and Performance" by Dr Xinming He, Dr Zhibin Lin and Prof. Yingqi Wei.
