HRM professor is keynote speaker in the Philippines and US

Professor Phil Taylor of the Department of Human Resource Management was a keynote speaker at a major international conference on call centres which took place in Manila, the Philippines, from June 20-22. This was the fifth Talking Across the World (TATW) Conference which brings together academics, researchers, practitioners and policy makers to discuss key developments in the contact centre industry globally and, in particular, in the Philippines.

The title of Professor Taylor’s presentation was ‘Changing Global Sourcing in an Era of Economic Crisis and Uncertainty’.

Professor Phil Taylor then travelled to the United States where he made several keynote contributions on a speaking tour of the eastern seaboard of the US, from June 26-28, organised by Scottish Development International. The purpose of the visit was to promote Scotland as a destination for inward investment for business services at conferences and seminars attended by global business service providers.

The first event was the World BPO Forum in New York and Professor Taylor spoke on the Present and Next Generation of Offshoring Destinations. His presentation received the highest feedback scores for speakers from the delegates.

He also delivered keynote addresses to the International Association of Outsourcing Professions (IAOP) in both New York and Boston on the subject of ‘Offshoring, Onshoring, Nearshoring, Rightshoring? The Changing Landscape of Global Delivery’.
