MSc in International Management students recently completed an assignment for the module, Global Business Environment, run by Dr George Burt, Department of Management. The objective of the assignment was to introduce a rigorous framework for exploring the contextual (or external) environment which facilitates understanding of the constituents or contextual variables, their inter-relationships inter-actions and over time (and the impact this will have upon organisations and their strategic thinking).
African Hospitality Capital Management was the client organisation for this exercise and James Wilson, Director of Hospitality, AHCM, and MBA graduate of SBS, visited the class on October 30 to view their presentations.
Following James’s visit to the Strathclyde Business School he commented, “I was thoroughly impressed with the standard and presentation as well as the depth of research that was evident in all of the student projects.” He went on to say that the students’ involvement had elicited a number of future scenarios and considerations they were going to pursue further.
He added, “The numerous recommendations within these presentations illustrated such an in depth knowledge of the workings of the country and the 10 year time horizons for the scenarios that they could have been performed by regional professional consultants.”
