Strathclyde MBA Oman graduation

Strathclyde Business School’s Oman partner, the College of Banking & Financial Studies (CBFS), held its MBA Graduation on January 13 with His Excellency, Hamood bin Sangour Al Zadjali, Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman and an array of dignitaries, students, parents and faculty in attendance.

The College has been running the MBA Programme since April 2001 in partnership with Strathclyde Business School. The Chairman of the College, Mr Ali Hamdan Al Raisi, commended the students on their achievements. Professor Colin Eden, Vice Dean of Strathclyde Business School, spoke of the stress on quality education by the University. The Acting Dean of CBFS, Mr Anis Moosa Al Lawati, pointed out that through international partnerships CBFS brought qualitative changes to managerial inputs in Oman.

H.H Sayyid Kamil Fahad Al-Said (Assistant Secretary General for the Cabinet of the Deputy Prime Minister for the Council of Ministers) spoke on behalf of the graduating students. He pointed out that the strategies of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said always focused on the importance of education in building self-confident individuals who could participate in the economic growth and prosperity of the Sultanate. He said that this was highlighted in the 2012 Annual Session of the Council of Oman, when His Majesty said: "It is well understood that education is the basis of development."

Ms Najwa Al Kindi, one of the graduating students, proposed a vote of thanks.
