Glasgow City Marketing Bureau (GCMB), which was set up by SBS alumnus Scott Taylor in 2005, has been named the UK's Best Convention Bureau for an incredible seventh year in a row.
Scott, a graduate of the marketing department, is Chief Executive of Glasgow City Marketing Bureau, and is also now a member of the Strathclyde Business Fellow Network.
At the influential industry magazine Meeting & Incentive Travel (M&IT) Awards Ceremony held in London this month, Glasgow beat off strong competition to secure the coveted title ahead of London & Partners, Liverpool Convention Bureau, Marketing Manchester and VisitScotland.
The accolade means that Glasgow has become the first UK city to collect the top prize seven times, and over consecutive years, reflecting a win for GCMB every year since its formation.
Glasgow City Marketing Bureau (GCMB) is the official destination marketing organisation (DMO) for the city of Glasgow. As custodian of the Glasgow: Scotland with style brand, GCMB works with partners, stakeholders and businesses to position and promote Glasgow across national and international markets as one of Europes most vibrant, dynamic and diverse cities in which to live, work, study, invest and visit.
