Global Energy Management programme gains EI accreditation

Strathclyde's Global Energy Management Masters degree has now been accredited by the Energy Institute, the professional body for the energy industry. MSc GEM is the first Masters course to hold academic accreditation for the professional status of Chartered Energy Manager. As a licensed body of the Engineering Council, the Energy Institute can offer students successfully completing the degree and having appropriate experience the opportunity to have their expertise recognised by becoming Chartered Energy Managers.

Richard Bellingham, Director for Smart Sustainable Cities at University of Strathclyde, said, "I am delighted the quality and breadth of our new Global Energy Management Masters degree has earned the recognition of the energy industry's professional body so quickly. I am sure this accreditation will assist our talented GEM students to achieve their ambitions in the energy sector."

During the course, as Learning Affiliates of the Energy Institute, Strathclyde's GEM students are entitled to free Energy Institute membership, access to a wealth of energy related information, significant discounts to attend conferences and seminars and many opportunities to meet professionals across the energy sector.
