Viktor Dörfler (Management Science Department) organised a paper-developing workshop for early career researchers and finishing PhD students from South-East Europe on April 12 in Dubrovnik, Croatia. The workshop was organised on behalf of the Academy of Management (AoM), Managerial and Organizational Cognition (MOC) division and hosted by the 'Organizational, Financial, Ethical and Legal Issues' (OFEL) of Corporate Governance conference.
As a founding member of the Outreach and Integration Committee of the MOC division, Dr Dorfler's motivation was to help young academics from the area integrating into the worldwide community of management scholars. Therefore the workshop tried to attract participants who already had some interesting results but, as historical experience shows, have a very slim chance of publishing these in top management journals.
The workshop ran with 36 participants from Croatia, Serbia, Bosnia, Montenegro, and Hungary. Two AoM members with significant editorial experience, Gerard P. Hodgkinson and Martin Kilduff helped the participants to develop their ideas in writing in order to achieve the possibility of publication in top academic outlets. Elated by the extremely positive feedback, the organisers already started the initial arrangements for another workshop next year.
