Faculty research affiliate at US university for economics academic

Stuart McIntyre, Department of Economics & Fraser of Allander Institute, has been appointed as a Faculty Research Affiliate at the Regional Research Institute (RRI) at West Virginia University (WVU) in recognition of the extensive research that he has undertaken with members of the RRI. RRI Faculty Research Affiliates are non-WVU researchers who play or have played critical roles in furthering the RRI mission through various forms of research collaboration.

The Regional Research Institute was founded in 1965 and has built an outstanding reputation for its many contributions to Regional Science; in particular its pioneering research on methods for analysing regions and its multidisciplinary approach to studying regional development.

McIntyre's involvement with the RRI goes back to 2010, and since then he has co-authored a number of research papers with RRI Faculty.

During a recent visit there in June, McIntyre presented two papers, one with a colleague based at Strathclyde: "Feed in Tariffs and the Uptake of Household Renewable Energy Device in England & Wales" (joint work with Grant Allan, University of Strathclyde) and one with a colleague at the RRI: "Personal Indebtedness, Community Characteristics and Theft Crime", (joint work with Donald J. Lacombe, RRI, WVU).
