Strathclyde graduate's entrepreneurial spirit

After graduating with a first class honours degree in Business Enterprise from the Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship in July 2013, Jennifer Hope was quick to put theory into practice by co-founding The Wee House Company.

The Wee House Company is designed as an innovative solution to the current UK housing crises - shortfall of new homes being built combined with the lack of funds available to the public sector and individuals alike. Providing new houses from just £59,000, 'wee houses' are environmentally sustainable and factory built in Scotland. They maximise useable space within a 40 or 68 square metre footprint and their traditional aesthetic design gives an attractive finish that will last for decades.

Jennifer and The Wee House Company are a great example of the multi stage support available in the Scottish Entrepreneurial Ecosystem - as, following her enterprise education at Strathclyde, she is currently based within Entrepreneurial Spark in Dundonald. Through the support she has received she has successfully made it to the final stages of the Scottish EDGE (Encouraging Dynamic Growth Entrepreneurs), a Dragon's Den style competition for ambitious entrepreneurs who wish to grow their business.

Jennifer's entrepreneurial activities are a great example of the Scottish Entrepreneurial network in action, demonstrating the #scotlandcando attitude as part of the 10th anniversary of Global Entrepreneurship week.
