Events Management for Charity – events coming up

Undergraduate students studying Events Management in the Department of Strategy and Organisation are putting together a series of events as part of their course and with the added benefit of raising money for charity.

The students have been put in teams and have the responsibility to organise events, which started on November 24 and run until December 7. Events include pub quizzes, dodgeball tournament, music nights, cocktail masterclass, comedy night and a salsa night. Charities to benefit include Shelter Scotland, Yorkhill Children's Charity, Mary's Meals, and Breast Cancer Care UK.

Dr Konstantinos Tomazos, from the Department of Strategy and Organization, said, "This is the second year we are running this class in the same format and we are hoping to emulate the success of last year when we raised just over £6,000 for charity. Maybe we can do even better this year with the wider support of Strathclyde. Please try and attend some of these events, there is something for everyone and the students will definitely appreciate your support."
