Students from the Department of Strategy and Organisation attended a professional development workshop on leadership, with different sessions in October and November.
Recognising that learning is at its most intense when people are faced with unfamiliar situations, MBM, MITS and MIM students work with Oliver Crane of TBL Organizational Development and the Scottish Sailing Centre on the island of Cumbrae, participating in an innovative, challenging and - many say - life-changing experience.
Students spend two nights at the centre undertaking activities that test leadership skills, team-building and managing the dynamics of teams. These group activities also feed into other classes within their programmes to help build self-confidence and encourage working with people from diverse cultural backgrounds. Students have time to reflect on what their MSc involves and what they need to do to get the most out of it, but it's also a fantastic opportunity for the students to get to know each other and have some fun!
