Our international centres in Oman, Bahrain, Malaysia, Singapore and Hong Kong held MBA presentation ceremonies for some of our graduating students in November who could not make it to the official graduation ceremonies in Glasgow, with others to follow in due course. In total, 176 students who had studied for their MBA at our international centres officially graduated from Strathclyde in November.
Bahrain Graduation
At the recent Bahrain graduations, the Gavin Boyd Memorial Prizes (highest examination mark) were awarded to: Muffazal Ansari (Operations Management) and Hawra Al Awainati (Finance & Financial Management).
Oman Graduation
In Oman, the College of Banking and Financial Studies (CBFS) and Strathclyde celebrated the graduation of the ninth batch of students of their MBA programme. The event was held under the auspices of Dr Khalid bin Mohammed al Azri, Secretary General of the Education Council, and was attended by Hamood bin Sangour al Zadjali, Executive President of the Central Bank of Oman, and an array of dignitaries, faculty, students and parents.
Malaysia Graduation
Malaysia's presentations took place on November 24 at the Dorsett Grand Subang Hotel, Subang Jaya, Malaysia.
Hong Kong Graduation
The presentation to students in Hong Kong took place on November 20 at the Novotel Century Hong Kong.
Singapore Graduation
In Singapore the ceremony which was held on November 22 at the Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel, with 5 students achieving distinctions. Dr Ron Bradfield, Associate Dean (MBA), and Director, Strathclyde Business School UAE, Ms Marianne Nimmo, MBA Operations Director, Strathclyde Business School, Dr Michael Marck, Academic Director, MBA, South-East Asia, Strathclyde Business School, Dr Lim Cheng Hwa, Faculty Member, Strathclyde Business School, Ms Carolyn Lints, Faculty Member, Strathclyde Business School, Mr Stephen Loh, President, YMCA of Singapore and Mr Jay Tan, General Manager of YMCA Education Centre Ltd all attended.
Mr Joseph Yeo who spoke on behalf of the 2013 graduating class, paid a glowing tribute to the MBA course, saying, "The Strathclyde MBA is not just any business course; it is one that has given me the best learning experience in my years of education." While emphasizing hard work and determination as key to success, Joseph described the camaraderie that emerged from working in teams as an enduring one. He thanked the academics for their professionalism in imparting an all-round education, which gave students ample opportunities for creative expression and apply theories into practice.
