A new awards scheme for Scottish companies was launched last month. The Scottish Corporate Awards, which will incorporate the hugely successful Scotland PLC awards, will recognise the best performing publicly listed and private companies in Scotland. The Awards are run by Business Insider magazine in association with Barclays Bank plc in partnership with the Business School as the research sponsor.
Ally Scott, managing director of Barclays Corporate Banking in Scotland said, "Scotland is home to a wealth of inspiring businesses that are leading the way in many sectors through their strengths in innovation, exporting and sustainability.
"Their impact on the marketplace, both in the UK and globally, cannot be underestimated and as a strong supporter of corporate Scotland we are keen to celebrate this success. The launch of the Scottish Corporate Awards is the ideal platform for recognising the achievements of the Scottish business community and I would encourage companies and business leaders to get involved."
Once again Strathclyde Business School will be carrying out research for the awards.
Professor Susan Hart, Dean of Strathclyde Business School, said, "The Business School is pleased, once again, to be providing the research base of evidence for the judges to consider when making their decisions.
"In addition to the interrogation of the financial performance of the companies, we will carry out in-depth analysis of their global operations and impact, efforts and effects of policies and practice to enhance sustainability and the extent and effect of workplace innovation, all of which are vital to the economic and social well-being of Scotland."
