Undergraduate students studying Events Management in the Department of Strategy and Organisation, who put together a series of events as part of their course, raised over £5,000 for charity.
The students were put in teams and had the responsibility to organise an event, which ran from November 24 until December 7. Events included pub quizzes, dodgeball tournament, music nights, cocktail masterclass, comedy night and a salsa night and charities which will benefit include Shelter Scotland, Yorkhill Children's Charity, Mary's Meals, and Breast Cancer Care UK.
The teaching team, Dr Kostas Tomazos and Dr Alia Weston, said, "We are very proud to report that our class Events Management for a second year has contributed to several local and national charities. The students did an amazing job.
"This class blends theory with action and the students for a second year running have used their talents and their enthusiasm in delivering thirteen successful events.
"We would like to express our gratitude to all the businesses that supported the students as for the second year running local stakeholders have embraced our efforts to deliver useful learning."
