Strathclyde Business School (SBS) was delighted to welcome Dr Bruce Piasecki, bestselling US author, to discuss "Competition in a world of 7 billion citizens: a new model for business growth/ success" on October 8.
Dr Piasecki presented what he calls "the arts of competitive frugality" to alumni, new MBA and Masters students as well as industry leaders and Strathclyde Business School Business Fellows.
His key message stated that we can all learn to enjoy doing more with less and in the process, we will become like Ben Franklin all over again, frugal in a fun sense, inventive and diplomatic, rather than war-like and wasteful. This argument was built from Bruce Piasecki’s thirty years of experience advising some of the largest firms in the world, from Toyota and Wal-Mart, to Warren Buffett’s Shaw Industries. But it also evolved from his love of books and from the literary tradition of self-determination, again as evident in the life and works of Ben Franklin.
Inebraye Abel Aboh, SBS Alumnus said, "Dr Bruce Piasecki's presentation and insight was truly inspiring."
