Business Fellows lead Strathclyde Business Clinic session

Third year Strathclyde Business School students had the opportunity to pick the brains of three Strathclyde Business Fellows when the Fellows came along to the business school to assist the students with their projects as part of the Strathclyde Business Clinics and Management Development Programme.

A total of 11 student groups took part in the afternoon event in November, meaning around 55 people benefitted from the Business Fellows' wealth of experience. Gerard Kelly, Director of Funding Operations at Creative Scotland; Garry Stern, Director of EBC Think Limited, a company that specialises in advising businesses on Change and Operations; and Brian Martin, Director at Caltona, all gave up their time to assist.

Harriett McBoyle, third year undergraduate student said, "Brian Martin was extremely helpful and listened to our issues before providing his perspective on the project and offering some excellent tips. We now feel much more confident in tackling the problems that we are faced with."

Dr Lucrezia Casulli, Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship said, "We were delighted to welcome three of our Business Fellows to the Business School to help with the Business Clinics. The students benefitted vastly from their knowledge and experience and the time they spent with them was really invaluable in helping shape their ideas."

Small and new businesses, both from the commercial and third sector, can benefit from the Strathclyde Business Clinic, using them for consultancy solutions tailored to their business needs. Our students play a vital role in diagnosing the root cause of the issues and design a plan of action for a given business. This year, they are providing support for 23 organisations from Jobs and Business Glasgow.
