This year will see the opening of the new £90m world class Technology and Innovation Centre (TIC) representing a significant milestone as the largest single campus investment made by the University to date.
A dedicated international centre for research, commercialisation, business innovation and technology development, the Centre provides state-of-the-art research facilities and a highly flexible working environment which will enable new and more efficient ways of working, and will help to grow the University's research and knowledge exchange capability and reputation. It's the first of its kind in Scotland in terms of scale, impact and its approach to multi-disciplinary research activity.
TIC will initially span four sectors, combining strengths in engineering, science, business and the social sciences:
Energy
Solving global energy needs from the creation of advanced low carbon and renewable technologies.
Future Cities
Understanding cities world-wide in new ways, to make them better places to live, work and for investment.
Health
Addressing the world-wide need to improve quality of life within disease management and prevention through health technologies.
Manufacturing
Resolving global challenges by the creation of advanced manufacturing and engineering technologies.
