Strathclyde Business School welcomed Derek Probert, Vice President, Retail, Services & Manufacturing at BT Global Services, on February 16 to hear MIM (Masters in Management) students’ presentations for the International Manager Leadership Challenge – a hands-on, practically oriented exercise specially designed for MIM students to put into practice the knowledge they have acquired during the International Manager Development section of the MIM programme (also known as IMDP).
The challenge was in the form of group presentation. It focuses on developing leadership practice plan for one of the collaborative arrangements between BT Global Services and their international partners.
IMDP, led by Dr Ying Zhang and Dr Peter McInnes, Department of Strategy and Organisation, seeks to develop MIM students’ sense of ‘global-mindedness’and their capacity for intellectual humility, integrity and emotional intelligence, enabling them to develop responsible management and leadership potential that is sensitive to national and cultural contexts.
Linda Buchan, Knowledge Exchange Director, Department of Strategy and Organisation, has facilitated the event as part of the wider departmental knowledge exchange initiatives.
