Marketing students get a taste of Italy and Spain with their electives

Students in Venice, right, students in Seville

A successful collaboration between Strathclyde Business School and universities in Italy and Spain provided the opportunity for Department of Marketing postgraduate students to study one of their elective classes in Venice or Seville.

The students enjoyed a rich, intensive programme which included lectures, company visits and cultural experiences. The European settings afforded a multi-sensory, holistic experience of concentrated learning in a contextualised environment, leading to better understanding of the challenges of companies operating in a particular sector and setting.

In Venice, students visited the Zonin Winery, the largest producer of wine in northern Italy which included a tour of the museum, a talk and wine-tasting, and a lunch in the Presidential Dining Room. In Seville, students enjoyed a visit to Ines Rosales, a company using traditional values and methods to create high-quality baked products that are exported around the world.
