On his appointment, Professor Hillier said, "As one of four faculties in a leading international technological university, Strathclyde Business School is rightly regarded as a market leader in applied business research and education. With our inspiring staff, values, triple accreditation, and the new £23 million estate, SBS is well placed to enter the next stage of its evolution as a leading international business school.

"Our increasing focus on technology, innovation and enterprise as cross-cutting themes in teaching, research, and industry engagement will ensure that Strathclyde Business School continues to be a 'place of useful learning' that combines academic excellence with social and economic relevance. It is a great honour and privilege to be given the opportunity to lead the School in this mission."
