Babcock Drive Change programme projects showcased

The Centre for Corporate Connections hosted the DRIVE Change Showcase, the finale of the Babcock DRIVE module, on August 5. During the session, participants had the opportunity to present the final results of their individual Change projects and how they applied their learning to tackle internal challenges in their daily working lives.

The participants attended the Centre for Corporate Connections in March 2015 and spent two days sharing individual experiences and learning more about the management of change. They worked in small groups to develop insight through practical application of a range of change models within real business projects. Over the next three months, participants selected an individual business project and were supported and coached on applying the principles of managing change taught by Module Faculty and Strathclyde Business Fellow, Brian Martin. Brian supported the face-to-face teaching with a series of post class webinars.

The Showcase is the culmination of the learning and an opportunity to demonstrate how they applied this in their work environment.

Brian was joined on the judging panel by Babcock DRIVE Change module sponsor, Tim Redfern, Operations Director DSG Land for Defence and Security; Marina Livingstone, Strathclyde Programme Director; and Cathy Ilett, Organisation Development Manager for Marine and Technology at Rosyth Naval Dockyard. Kevin Thomas, SSBN Project Manager based at the Clyde, was awarded the prize for Best Project for his work on ‘Working Time Solutions within Fleet Engineering at HMNB Clyde’.

The Babcock LEAD & DRIVE Programme was launched in 2014 and is a series of bespoke Executive Education modules for middle and senior managers within Babcock covering a range of areas from Change to Growing the Business.
