The Institute for Future Cities was delighted to welcome a crew from Time Magazine to the TIC in early December, to contribute to a new film looking at Glasgow as a 'Smart City'.
The film, which will be broadcast online to a global audience via time.com, looks at how Glasgow has reinvented itself from post-industrial city to a city pioneering the use of innovative new technologies.
Richard Bellingham, Director of the Institute, said, "Glasgow has coped with significant change over the last 50 years; its issues are globally relevant and the significant steps the city has taken to drive forward innovation are now getting global recognition. The University, through initiatives such as the City Observatory, has a significant role in supporting Glasgow, ensuring our research has tangible relevant impact in the city that is our home and others across the world."
The Time reporters also interviewed the leader of Glasgow City Council Frank McAveety, senior colleagues from Glasgow's wider Future City Demonstrator project, and academic and technical partners working in the Future Cities area.
The film will be available in early 2016 on time.com.
