The second in the Glasgow Powerhouse series of events took place on February 16 at PwC offices in Glasgow. Jointly run by PwC and Strathclyde Business School, this event focused on the Financial Services sector in Glasgow.
The event series is focused on looking at the business potential in Glasgow as a city and what can be done to help Glasgow become a ‘powerhouse’ in all its key business sectors. Each debate features key industry figures.
Daniel Broby, Accounting and Finance lecturer, was on the expert panel and wrote a pre-event blog while Masters student Samuel Baker wrote up the event for the SBS blog. Both Strathclyde Business School blogs can be found here and the PwC blogs on the series can be found here.
Joining Daniel Broby on the panel were Fraser Wilson of PwC, Sharon Hamilton of Scottish Enterprise and Andy Hall of Barclays.
The first Powerhouse event in October focused on SMEs and entrepreneurs and a number of action points were identified. Following the financial services event, the next debates will focus on the education sector and life sciences.
