Lord Forte winner

Ineta Valantinaite is the first student to benefit from the Lord Forte Foundation award as part of a 10 year funding award to final year students by the Foundation.

Strathclyde Business School has been awarded funds of £2,500 each year for the next ten years by the Lord Forte Foundation as an annual prize.

Students studying Hospitality and Tourism Management in their Honours year are eligible. The successful applicant is selected by a panel of judges, with the award being decided on academic merit.

Ineta said, “My four years at the University of Strathclyde have been incredibly rewarding. I have thoroughly enjoyed both my Marketing and Hospitality and Tourism Management courses lead by dedicated and talented lecturers. The programme offered by Strathclyde Business School allowed me to learn about the business world from different perspectives and equipped me with a wide range of skills that will help me succeed in the future.

“The programme not only offered in-depth knowledge of business theories but also encouraged exploration and critical analysis of the most recent market trends. I particularly enjoyed my honours Hospitality and Tourism Management course that challenged me to critically evaluate topics such as slum and dark tourism, as well as the impact of the sharing economy on the future of hospitality and tourism.

“The skills and knowledge gained in this university will be invaluable in my future career in marketing, hospitality and tourism. I would also like to thank Lord Forte for all their support and the prize will go towards my planned post graduate study.”
