Marketing academic leads Strathclyde's involvement in innovation programme

Under the leadership of Dr Beverly Wagner of the Department of Marketing, the University of Strathclyde is the academic partner supporting Scottish Enterprise’s vanguard open innovation programme 2015-2019. The purpose of this £3 million Scottish Enterprise project is to encourage an open innovation culture in Scottish organisations in order to increase the global competitiveness of Scottish based companies.

The academic team is committed over the next two years to facilitate the adoption of open innovation methodologies in a cohort of twelve public and private organisations from a wide range of sectors including, manufacturing, oil and gas, financial and health services. The shared learning and experience will be documented and disseminated to the wider business community. There are a number of anticipated impacts from this project including the potential to generate up to £50 million additional Research & Development expenditure within Scotland.
