A paper by Dr Matthew Alexander (Marketing) and Professor Elina Jaakkola from Turku School of Economics, Finland was ranked in the top 20 most cited articles in the Marketing discipline published since December 2012.

The paper titled 'The Role of Customer Engagement Behavior in Value Co-Creation: A Service System Perspective' was published in the Journal of Service Research (ABS 4*) in 2014 and has been in the top 5 most read papers in that journal 20 times since publication.

An article published towards the end of 2016 on weight discrimination in the workplace co-authored by Professor Dennis Nickson (HRM) has been ranked by Altmetic in the top 5% of all research outputs ever tracked by the company. The article was ranked 2,723 out of nearly 7 million outputs in Altmetric. Altmetric is a company that tracks and analyses online activity around scholarly research outputs.

Altmetric's are metrics that are complementary to traditional, citation-based metrics, such as impact factor and h-index, and are now an increasingly important additional measure of a work's impact. Altmetrics track non-traditional metrics to show how a piece of work gains attention beyond usual academic audiences, how widely it is disseminated, and the potential influence and impact it has globally.
