Academic called on for innovation expertise

Dr Matthew Hannon, Chancellor’s Fellow of Technology and Innovation,  Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, was invited to attend a ‘sandpit’ workshop by EPSRC to develop a £12 million Energy Revolution Research Consortium, part of the UK Industrial Strategy’s “Prospering from the Energy Revolution” theme. Dr Hannon is part of the team developing the only proposal due for early September.

Dr Hannon has also been interviewed by the Scottish Government’s Strategic Insights Unit to inform policy choices around how future technological change may impact on Scotland’s competitive advantage and economic growth, and was also called on by the UK Department of Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy (BEIS) workshop to share his knowledge to shape a new programme from Science and Innovation for Climate and Energy (SICE) and International Climate Finance (ICF) to accelerate clean energy innovation in developing countries.
