Strathclyde Business School MSc students studying Business and Management (MBM), International Management (MIM), and Project Management & Innovation (PMI) have been working on real-life consulting projects for clients Diageo, M&S and a local Charity, C-Change which provides personalised support for vulnerable people with learning disabilities or mental health issues.
All clients were highly satisfied with the recommendations and solutions provided by the students and the winning groups have been celebrating their successes.
Ron Bandiera, who studies MSc Project Management & Innovation said, “By providing graduate students the opportunity to build on existing strengths, learn new skills, improve on their talents in the courses that make up the various programmes - be it PMI, MBM, or MIM - then have them apply all this useful learning into the final Consulting in Practice course definitely completes the circle and makes the programme whole.
"I can’t help thinking the Consulting in Practice course is the embodiment of the vision that John Anderson had in mind when he bequeathed his estate for the foundation of an institution devoted to 'useful learning' which is now known worldwide as the University of Strathclyde.”
The Consulting in Practice class has been delivered to over 100 students
each year who are studying MSc MBM, MIM and PMI and has been done over the
last four years by Dr Aylin Ates, Dr Kathryn Thory and Ms Marina
Livingston.
