Top ranking for Accounting & Finance in Good University Guide

The subjects of Economics and Accounting & Finance have been highly ranked in the most recent Sunday Times Good University Guide 2021, with Accounting and Finance being ranked number one in the UK.

Economics was ranked in the top five of universities for the subject and Business Studies was ranked 7th in the UK. Overall, the University of Strathclyde climbed 13 places to sit in joint 23rd position in the ranking. The University has also risen significantly with regards to Graduate Prospects, moving up 18 places in the UK ranking and sitting in 2nd place for Graduate Prospects in Scotland.

Last year, Strathclyde was named Scottish University of the Year by the Sunday Times; this year, we were shortlisted by the Sunday Times for UK University of the Year, with Oxford taking top place. Strathclyde was one of just five universities to make the UK-wide shortlist.

The guide is based on an analysis of 131 UK universities judged on nine indicators including student satisfaction with teaching quality and their wider student experience, research quality, graduate prospects, entrance qualifications held by new students, degree results achieved, student/staff ratios, service and facilities spend, and degree completion rates. The league table (published September 18) looks at scores from the latest National Student Survey.

This latest good news for our subjects follows on from The Guardian's Best UK Universities 2021 league table earlier this month which saw Economics and Accounting & Finance ranked 4th in the UK and Business, Management & Marketing ranked in the top 10 in the UK.
