Fully funded PhD Scholarship for project on aesthetic labour

Interested parties are invited to apply for a fully-funded PhD opportunity starting in April 2022 which will be focused on “Sexualised aesthetic labour and sexual harassment in the tourism and hospitality industry in a period of socioeconomic crisis”.

This PhD project will explore the experiences of hospitality workers with sexual harassment, especially by customers. The research explores the post-Covid19 environment, where concerns about socioeconomic instability and unemployment mean that employees may feel pressurised to tolerate and accept harassment by customers

The deadline for applications is March 17. Professor Dennis Nickson and Dr Anastasios Hadjisolomou will supervise the project. Further information can be found here and anyone interested can contact Tasos at a.hadjisolomou@strath.ac.uk
