Dr Matt Hannon, Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, met with co-leader of the Green Party and Scottish Government Minister for Zero Carbon Buildings, Active Travel and Tenants' Rights, Patrick Harvie, on March 21.
This was part of Matt’s role as trustee and chair for South Seeds, a community environmental organisation, based in the south side of Glasgow. South Seeds works in partnership with local residents and organisations to enable Southsiders to lead more sustainable lives.
Matt said, “My work with South Seeds really leans on my research and teaching around socially progressive, sustainable energy business models. It was great to discuss with Patrick how South Seeds is helping fuel-poor households to pay their energy bills amid escalating costs but, also, what support the community needs from government to help shift them away from expensive, carbon-intensive gas and towards cheaper, cleaner ways of heating their homes.”
