Executive Education - Business Negotiation Strategies

Our UAE campus welcomed participants from government, telecommunication and aviation industries to complete an executive education programme on Business Negotiation Strategies. This three-day programme was delivered by alumnus Dr Sherif Elnegahy, Mediator at the United Nations and International Negotiation expert. This executive education programme equipped participants with skills to apply the latest negotiation strategies from closing deals, maximizing value in the agreements, resolving differences and ultimately building trust and durable business relationships.

Event - Women in Leadership

A Women in Leadership event was held at the UAE campus and was the first in a series of such events which will continue the discussion. The event brought together esteemed female leaders specialising in academia and industry to discuss their leadership journeys. The speakers were Strathclyde alumni and the moderator was a current student.

The panel discussion was followed by an engaging networking opportunity to discuss innovative ways that will make a difference to women involved in today's competitive global business.

Event - Fostering a Culture of Strategic Thinking

Global Practitioner in Strategy Brian Mooney led a Masterclass in Dubai that has toured our other centres in the Middle East on November 16. In the Masterclass Brian drew on his experience to explain what exactly it means to ‘be strategic’ and how to foster a culture of strategic thinking. He shared first-hand experiences of how strategic thinking initiatives led to multi-billion-dollar new businesses at companies such as Nokia and Shell and provide a framework for improving strategic thinking for individuals, teams, organisations, and entire nations.

Masterclass - TDRA

Our UAE campus collaborated with TDRA, a UAE Government entity, for a masterclass on ‘Metaverse from definition to application’, hosted by Waleed Al Nokrashy, Chief Executive Officer at UAE Digital Lab and Strathclyde MBA alumnus. It also offered insight into emerging digital technologies with real life case studies relating to metaverse.

Social Purpose

The Dubai campus is proud to support ‘Gulf for Good’ a large charity organisation based in the UAE. At their recent annual gala dinner, they were happy to support as education partner and look forward to further collaborations.

Partnerships

Our UAE campus has added two partnerships recently – the Federal Authority for Human Resources and Dubai Police - to the growing collaborations within the UAE and are looking forward to seeing these develop. These are in addition to recent partnerships with TDRA, Ajman Transport Authority.

As the UAE will be hosting COP28 in November 2023, our UAE campus is currently collaborating with the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment to discuss University involvement. Additionally, they have been working with TRENDS Advisory and Research management to explore collaboration opportunities in climate change aspects. TRENDS has been conducting focused publications and research work for Water Security in Arab World, Embedding Technology in Climate Change (UAE Case Study), Energy Transition Strategies/Applications and Future of Food etc. Both entities are representing UAE in COP27 in Sharm Al Sheikh for this year as a part of their Environment and Sustainable Development research programme. The UAE campus is also discussing collaboration opportunities with other universities with campuses in the UAE.
